How We Work
Our Policy on Child Protection
Guidelines for Sponsors
At Apulki Foundation, your sponsorship journey marks the beginning of a meaningful connection with a child in need. While this relationship can be incredibly rewarding, it also comes with the responsibility to uphold the safety and dignity of the children we serve.
Apulki Foundation is firmly committed to safeguarding children from abuse and exploitation. To ensure every child’s privacy and security, we request all sponsors to follow the guidelines below, in alignment with our Child Protection Policy.
Child Image Display Guidelines
We encourage you to share the joy of sponsorship with your family and close friends. You may display your sponsored child’s photo in personal spaces like your home or office. Only basic information—first name, age, and country—may be shared in such contexts.
Please do not distribute child photos or personal details publicly.
Online sharing and emailing of child images
To protect each child’s privacy and well-being, sponsors are not permitted to post their sponsored child’s photo or personal details (such as full name, age, location, health condition, etc.) on websites, social media, or via email.
Downloading or copying images
Photographs and personal information shared by Apulki Foundation are protected. Downloading, copying, or reusing these photos from our website or social media pages is strictly prohibited without written permission.
We monitor online spaces for misuse of child images and will take necessary legal steps against unauthorized use.
Contacting Your Sponsored Child
Children have the right to feel completely secure in their sponsorship relationships. For their safety, we share only limited information and have defined guidelines for communication.
Emails, Calls & Unplanned Visits
Sponsors may not contact their sponsored child or their family directly through calls, emails, or visits without prior written approval from Apulki Foundation. Unmonitored or unapproved contact is strictly prohibited.
Planned Visits
We welcome you to visit your sponsored child, provided the visit is arranged in advance. Please send a written request to us at sagarchikane.8785@gmail.com at least 10 days before your visit.
All visits will be organized on weekdays (excluding national holidays), in the presence of Apulki Foundation staff and the child’s parent or guardian. Unscheduled visits are not permitted under any circumstances.
Writing Letters
You are encouraged to write letters to your sponsored child. These are a wonderful way to build a bond. If your sponsored child is too young to write, a caregiver or staff member may help. All communication should be addressed to:
Donor Relations
Apulki Foundation, [Chennai/Mumbai Office Address as appropriate]
Social Media and Internet Use
As a child-focused organization, Apulki Foundation recognizes the potential risks posed by digital media. While technology has enabled us to stay connected, it also opens up possibilities for inappropriate interactions.
We request that you:
- Do not share your sponsored child’s full name, photo, or personal details online.
- Do not engage in direct contact via social media (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Skype, etc.).
- Refrain from posting identifying information on blogs, forums, or public platforms.
We ask the same of sponsored children and their families to avoid unsolicited or unsafe interactions. If you are contacted directly by your sponsored child or someone claiming to be, please report it immediately to sagarchikane.8785@gmail.com.
One of the key reasons behind this guideline is the risk of impersonation—where someone else might misuse a child’s identity to make financial or emotional appeals.
Representation and Consent
Apulki Foundation treats every child and their family with dignity. All children featured in our materials participate with the informed consent of their parent or guardian. We work alongside children as partners in change, not beneficiaries of charity.
Reporting Concerns
If any sponsor, donor, child, or guardian violates the above policies or if you suspect inappropriate conduct, please report immediately by writing to us at: sagarchikane.8785@gmail.com
Together, let’s ensure every child feels safe, respected, and valued throughout their sponsorship journey.
