Financial Accountability
At Apulki Foundation, every employee and board member is entrusted with the responsibility of being a faithful steward of the resources placed in our care. Our commitment to integrity and transparency is reflected in the strong governance and accountability structures we uphold.
An independent Board provides overall leadership in governance, ensuring risk management, legal compliance, and strategic oversight. The Foundation’s management team strives for the highest standards of operational excellence through a multi-layered accountability framework. This includes independent internal audits, statutory audits by a reputed audit firm, external audits by local auditors, operations audits, mid-term evaluations, and rigorous monitoring and peer reviews guided by robust design frameworks.
Our partnership-based approach with community organisations strengthens our responsiveness and accountability to the children and communities we serve. This collaborative model ensures our work is grounded in real needs and driven by shared responsibility.
At Apulki Foundation, we are committed to reflecting the reality of our work with honesty and integrity—both in words and actions. With God’s guidance, we continually strive not just for compliance, but for excellence in governance, management, operations, and administration.
By pledging a monthly contribution, child sponsors help vulnerable children access essentials like clean drinking water, sanitation, education, nutrition, health care, and skills for future livelihoods. Child sponsorship not only supports individual development but also empowers entire communities—fostering education, income generation, and long-term self-sufficiency.
Sponsors have the opportunity to build meaningful connections with their sponsored children through letters, progress reports, and even personal visits, making their support both impactful and personal.
In addition to sponsorships, Apulki Foundation’s programmes are supported by grants from philanthropic foundations and bilateral agencies. Several targeted initiatives also benefit from corporate partnerships and funding, further strengthening our mission to uplift children and communities across India.
At Apulki Foundation, each programme is designed with clear indicators to monitor our progress toward child well-being. We assess how each community is performing relative to others and to national benchmarks, ensuring that our efforts are contextually relevant and effective.
Regular evaluations allow us to measure the true impact of our work, make data-driven decisions, and adapt our strategies when needed. We actively involve the community in this process—sharing results with stakeholders, validating outcomes through qualitative interviews, and conducting focus group discussions to ensure transparency and inclusivity.
To strengthen accountability, we conduct surprise audits and periodic internal audits based on risk assessments. Each project is also reviewed by external auditors—local chartered accountants—to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls.
Our performance against our country strategy is reviewed biannually by the Board, and we report to the public through our Annual Review. Sponsors and donors receive detailed updates through our yearly newsletters, ensuring transparency at every level.
All financial records are audited and certified by our statutory auditors, reflecting our commitment to integrity and good governance.
